State backs war, Bush

The Oklahoma Poll shows support is higher in the state than in the rest of the nation

Support for President Bush's war in Iraq is higher in Oklahoma than it is in the rest of the nation, state and national polling shows.

The Oklahoma backing of the White House on the war issue is in part because of the president's popularity in the state, said Al Soltow, a consultant for the Oklahoma Poll.

The Oklahoma Poll is sponsored by the Tulsa World and KOTV, channel 6.
