Tulsa World: Many Tulsans consider Fallin a mystery

Mary Fallin may have scored a sweeping victory in November, but on the eve of her inauguration as the state's 27th governor, it appears she is still an unknown entity to many Oklahomans.

Fallin, a Republican, received 60 percent of the vote to win the Nov. 2 general election against Democrat Jari Askins.

In an Oklahoma Poll conducted last week, however, only 52 percent gave her a positive rating.

A third had no opinion.

"She's kind of unknown to me, really," said poll respondent Jane Baker of Tulsa. "I know her name, of course, but I have not really studied decisions she has made."
