Bridge lacks voter support

More than 60 percent of Tulsa County voters in a recent poll opposed the idea of a toll bridge.
Although they may have little say in the matter, a proposal to construct a privately financed toll bridge across the Arkansas River lacks support among Tulsa County voters as a whole.
Tulsa County commissioners were sued by a citizens group after a 75-year franchise agreement was signed with Infrastructure Ventures Inc. to build a bridge near Yale Avenue between 121st and 131st streets. One claim in the unsuccessful legal challenge was that a vote on the project should have been held.
