Henry winner in voter survey

In a mock state election, the governor comes out ahead of J.C. Watts and Mary Fallin

Governor Brad Henry has a high approval rating among those who expect to vote in November 2006, including Republicans, a recent survey shows.

An Oklahoma Poll conducted June 23-27 also showed the first-term Democrat leading former U.S. Rep. J.C. Watts, a Republican, by a margin of 48.5 percent to 33.9 percent, with about 18 percent undecided in a mock race for governor.

Republican Lt. Gov. Mary Fallin, who said Thursday that she won't run for governor in 2006, also trailed Henry in the mock race, according to the poll.
