News9: OKC Mayor Mick Cornett Holds Lead Over Challengers In New Poll

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett held onto a sizeable lead over his challengers in a new poll released Sunday.
Sixty-three percent of likely voters said they would re-elect Cornett to a fourth term. That figure was virtually unchanged from an earlier poll taken February 17-19.
Councilman Ed Shadid gained six percentage points over the last few weeks. In the current poll, 25 percent of likely voters support the Ward 2 councilman in his bid to become mayor.

About the News9/Oklahoma Gazette Poll
The poll of 513 likely Oklahoma City voters was conducted February 27 - March 1 by ShapardResearch/SoonerPoll.com, using a dual frame of randomly selected landlines and cell phones. Landlines were administered by IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and cell phones by live interviewer. Results were weighted by sex and age, and stratified using a model of previous city mayoral elections. The poll was sponsored by News9 and the Oklahoma Gazette. The margin of error is ±4.32 percentage points.
