Survey: Tulsans upbeat on city
82 percent say Tulsa's quality of life is good or excellent.
Concerns about the economy, bumpy streets and crime aside, Tulsans still have a generally good opinion of their city and remain fairly optimistic about its future, the most recent Oklahoma Poll found.
Eighty-two percent of the 750 Tulsans surveyed Oct. 31 to Nov. 5 rated Tulsa's quality of life as good or excellent, which was slightly better than when the same question was asked in March 2006. Better than 28 percent rated it excellent, compared with 20 percent 3 1/2 years ago.
Four percent rated Tulsa's quality of life as poor, the same as in 2006.
"We moved from the East Coast," said poll respondent Margaret Parks. "It's a slower pace of life. I just thought I had more options here than I did back East."
